No. 103 - Determination of Nitrate in Tobacco and Tobacco Products by Ion Chromatography

This Recommended Method is used to quantitatively determine the concentration of nitrate in tobacco, cigarette filler, and a variety of smokeless tobaccos using ion chromatography. Results are reported in units of µg/g on an as-is basis. This method is applicable to samples with concentrations of nitrate in the range of 50 µg/g - 20000 µg/g.
