Method for measuring hot collapse of cigarette

For accurately measuring the hot collapse of cigarette during smoking, a method for measuring the hot collapse of tobacco rod and filter plug of cigarette with smoking machine was established by optimizing the method recommended by CORESTA. The optimized testing conditions were: 1) the sample amount for tobacco rod test was 10, butt length was tipping paper length + 10 mm, the test position should be on tipping paper length + 3 mm measured from the mouth end; 2) the sample amount for filter tip test was 5, butt length was tipping paper length +3 mm, and the test position should be on filter plug length minus 5 mm measured from the mouth end; under which the RSD was under 10%. The method was suitable for test batches of samples.
