Introduction of electronic controls in secondary tobacco machinery

SALMON M.
SASIB, Bologna, Italy
There is worldwide agreement on the necessity to introduce electronic facilities into tobacco machinery to improve the efficiency of control, to have a better MTBF (mean time before failure), and to permit greater, flexibility of operation. This paper considers the problems encountered in real applications by showing the dangers found in such applications and points out the extreme importance of the choice of the main projects. In particular, a system driving a step-by-step motor is discussed.
