α-Tocopherol, a known constituent of flue-cured tobacco, has been identified as a component of the cigarette smoke from a cased commercial blend of tobacco. The α-tocopherol in the cigarette smoke comprised 0.0028 per cent of the tobacco consumed during the smoking process.
