In August 2020 the Physical Test Methods (PTM) Sub-Group published CRM 94 (Determination of Crush Strength of Flavour Capsules for Filters – Definitions and Measurement Principles) and for that purpose carried out a first collaborative study published as PTM-218-1-CTR.

In line with the objectives of the PTM Sub-Group a second collaborative study was carried out to check if during the first two years of use the laboratories are still able to maintain the r&R values determined in the first study.

Results show that laboratories are in general able to reliably perform the measurement of crush strength parameters as described in CRM 94.
