2019 Collaborative Study for the Determination of Formaldehyde and Acetaldehyde in E-Vapour Product Aerosol

EVAP Technical Report

November 2020 Ref. EVAP-127-2-CTR

The CORESTA E-Vapour (EVAP) Sub-Group initiated a collaborative study for the determination of carbonyl compounds in e-vapour product aerosol generated under CORESTA Recommended Method No. 81 puffing conditions. The target compounds for this study included formaldehyde and acetaldehyde, which were determined following a proposed CORESTA Recommended Method (CRM) for the determination of carbonyl compounds in e-vapour product aerosol.

The study demonstrated that the proposed CRM was suitable for the determination of formaldehyde and acetaldehyde in e-vapour product aerosol generated under CRM No. 81 puffing conditions. Following the results obtained, the EVAP Sub-Group recommended the creation of a new Recommended Method.
