2009 Collaborative Study on Menthol in Mainstream Total Particulate Matter
RAC Technical Report
May 2011
Due to increased interest in menthol in mainstream smoke, a collaborative study was organised to measure the amount of menthol in mainstream total particulate matter (TPM). As work on analysis of menthol in mainstream TPM was already being done within the ISO framework, it was decided that the objective for this study would not be to draft a CORESTA Recommended Method (CRM), but to get an estimate of the repeatability (r) & reproducibility (R) of menthol in mainstream TPM when laboratories use their own analytical methods.
