2009 Collaborative Study on Ammonia in Tobacco Using Ion Chromatography Analysis

This report covers the third collaborative study relating to the analysis of ammonia in tobacco. Ion chromatography was chosen because of its superior analytical capability in relation to continuous flow analysis (CFA) and its potential to accommodate additional analytes. The aim of this study was to produce a CORESTA Recommended Method (CRM) for ammonia in tobacco using ion chromatography.
